Electric
Paintbrush utilizes an ink set of four formulated light fast inks (Cyan,
Magenta, Yellow and Black, also known as CMYK) manufactured by Lyson Limited of
the UK and distributed by i-Lab Corp. of Atkinson,
N.H.
The testing of
the inks was conducted by an independent facility, Wilhelm Imaging Research,
Inc. of Grinnell, IA. The results of the testing were then presented to the
International Association of Fine Art Digital Printmakers in New York City.
The four Lyson
inks were subject to an accelerated testing at 75 F at 60% RH while displayed
under lighting of 450 lux for 12 hours. This testing indicated that the
predicted display life for images printed on Somerset Velvet paper was 65 to 75
years before any noticeable fading is
detected.
Question: Remember that costly painting you
bought from that art dealer? The painting that is hanging on your living room
wall by that famous artist. You know the artist I mean. Do you think that print
will last 75 years before any noticeable fading? Just ask your art dealer. Then
ask to see the independent testing information to support their
answer.
